Paramount Plus is getting a cheaper ad-supported subscription option

Paramount Plus is joining the litany of other streaming services that has a cheaper way to subscribe. The company announced a new $4.99 subscription tier on Monday.

Just like HBO Max’s new subscription tier, the new version of Paramount Plus will feature ads to offset the reduced price. Unfortunately, Paramount doesn’t give any details on what its ads will be like or how often they’ll play.

Paramount is now the third streaming service to introduce an ad-supported version of its platform. While Paramount mentions that subscribers at both prices will get access to the service’s new line up of summer content, including Rocketman, Skyfall, Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol, Footloose, iCarly, Evil, and The Good Fight, it does not specify whether or not these customers will have access to all of the platform’s available content or only certain things.

One thing new users will definitely get is the new movie Infinite, Paramount Plus’ first big exclusive release, which stars Mark Wahlberg and is set to come out on June 10.

The new version of Paramount Plus will launch on June 7.
